February 23

Dales HopsToday I tried Dale's Pale Ale an Aerican Pale Ale produced by the Oskar Blues Grill And Brewery from Lyons, Colorado.  I first heard about this beer from my son getting his masters in Boulder and was intrigued by a beer that came in a can.  Hey! If Coors can keep beer fresh without that can taste why not a craft beer?  I was very surprised to find it on tap at the Mews Tavern in Wakefield, RI.  The tap handle - A can of course.  Hearing about its crisp citrusy taste with a balance of sweet malt, I was eager to try this 6.5% ABV sampling.  I was elated to find that it delivered on its promise.  It has a gorgeous light copper
color with a thick thin head that provides an aroma of hoppy goodness.  The first sip falls sweet against the tongue but as it rolls down the throat, the wonderful taste of earthy pine and  sweet grapefruit filled my mouth.  It rolled gracefully down the glass with each sip leaving beautiful white rings as I quickly finished this very smooth ale that encourages you to ask for a refill.  But, beware of its 6.5% ABV that goes unnoticed untill you step from the stool.  This delightful beer is well crafted and comes in a can. What could be better than tailgaiting with a can of craft beer for a change?  Finding a place that sells them!  In a discussion over pints I heard that it could be found at Pier Liquers in Narragansett.  Well, that is all for today, if you have had this beer or any variety from this brewery please leave your opinions. And if you know where to find it in the case or on tap please do so as well.  Day One - drdredlock
