Brother Matt: sabbatical in Colorado Feb 26:2011

Today: worked as a housekeeper/busboy at snazzy retirement community with belly dancers and flamenco guitarist with dark glasses.

Devotional i.

Lost Abbey brewery: Serpent Stout, Mercado, California:
10.5% 220z cork capped bottle Belgian style stout:
Thin mocha colored head with tiny bubbles almost creamy in appearance. Scents of coffee, roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate. Very smooth on the palette, rounds out with initial dark chocolate, roasted malt taste, coffee taste slight and not obtrusive even after several sips. Hints of dark fruits and port when temperature warms. not an overwhelmingly alcohol taste for 10.5%. Though the alcohol becomes a bit prominent at room temp. This is helped by a hint of vanilla in aftertaste. Low soft carbonation. Leaves a Rorschach film from top to bottom. This is a seasonal ale for winter but could be easily sipped upon a humid August New England evening.
One bottle suffices to rouse the spirits for quite some time. It is the ease of being in the arms of a woman two thousand miles from the place I call home.
5 out of 5 sips agreeable to the palette
