February 27 - So I sat down to some chinese food with a fantastic Un-Limited Little Sumpin Ale from the Lagunitas Brewing Company Petaluma, California. I have seen more of this beer in stores lately and decided to give it a try. This nicley hopped ale with a 64.20 I.B.U. is a crisp and lively libation that truly dances on the palate. The clear golden color and wheat aroma masks the intensity of flavors that await your senses. It pours into a nice half inch frothy white head that disapears to a lacey top that rings the glass with each sip. The aroma is a delicate balance of wheat and pale malt with a hint of bright hops that beckon you to taste. What I like about this ale is the sweet malty flavor that splashes across the tongue that then lights up the sides of the tongue with a gorgeous bouquet of citrus notes from grapefruit to a delicate pine taste. But the soft orange note that is left as the beer finishes mixes well with the sweetness of the malt leaving the taste of honeysuckle. Oh Yeah! The chinese food was great - sesame chicken. The tight spicy flavors of the ale mixed well with the food. I am ecstatic that I just have to drive to my local "packy" to grab a six - but I am looking forward for a little California dreaming with a fresh pint in hand. Day five - drdredlock
