Mondays are always long days at work, not always blue days. Charlie Sheen had an exceptional day today.
Well this eves tastes are varied and four.
Bar Harbor
Real Ale
I found this beer to be okay. I got a malt and almost bacon smell upon pouring. I looked around the kitchen to see if my wife was using bacon in the dinner preparations. She wasn't. The taste is an even full mouthed malt. The feel of the beer is a bit thinner than I expected, judging against the dark colour that poured out of the bottle. The brewers website says it is their most popular beer and I am not going to go against that claim. Overall it has a good drinkability, when offered a second say, "Yes, Please."

Southern Tier
Hop Sun
I know a summer beer consumed in the winter.... A NO NO! But not this one. This is one of my favorite brewers and when i saw this 12 oz bottle sitting alone on the shelf I said, "What the heck, summer is just around the corner and I deserve a summer thought." This beer delivered.
Hops rose up from the glass upon being poured. The yellow colour, not too light, set me up for what was delivered. From the web site:
"Pour Hop Sun Summer Wheat Beer into a pint glass, give it a long whiff and you’ll realize that this isn’t your average wheatbeer. Filtered to a golden clarity and dry-hopped to perfection, Hop Sun is a fantastic session ale in which flavors of wheat, barley and hops commingle to a refreshing and zesty conclusion. Hints of lemon and sweet malts waft to the fore as a touch of bitterness contributes to Hop Sun’s bright finish. Enjoy Hop Sun all summer long as a perfect balance to your outdoor recreation. Summer never tasted so good."
I didn't get the hints of lemon, but the sweet malt flavor and the hop finish were. A good beer and one I will look for after a lawn mowing session.

Long Trail
Double Bag
A nice dark honey colour pours into the glass and creates a head that soon vanishes. Smooth taste, malt with a hop finish. After a couple drinks there is a sweetness that mingles with the hops in the finish. Be aware of the strength of this beer, you might not notice the ABV of over 7%
until you try moving around.
Very good beer and I am glad it is from New England.
And I love the name.

Lake Placid
Ubu Ale
Brewed as an English Strong Ale.
I found this beer to be somewhat tame. Tame in the sense of not any one thing too tasty or anything tasty about it. I am guessing it is a beer to be drank when fresh and right off a tap.
just a bland notion.....I am sure ff tap it is far from bland......sorta like judging a game of cricket, a game I never played and don't understand. Enough.
